Ally Baird will be the first person to say that the focus of this post should be on the men’s team and their consistent performance through the year. Nevertheless we should congratulate him on this award, which he earned by winning the most points for his team of any player in Division One of the North Durham league (having been a close second last year). Commendation also to James Kempster who won the most points per match played.
However, we can be proud of every one of our team squad who turned up, week in week out, often in ghastly weather, to represent our club and secure second place in the league. They are: Ally Baird, Stephen Burn, Dan Fox, Martin Fulbrook, Jonny Gowland, John Heppell, James Kempster, Paul Lee, John Major, Wayne Melles, Andrew Soppitt, and Matt Wake. A few of them were pictured in action at a recent match. Apologies to Paul and Andrew who were not photographed.
I have no doubt that they have the ability and drive to win the league next year. They get very little support on match days, and I would encourage you to come and cheer them on.
