The majority of the changes will be implemented automatically via the handicap software. However, on a day - to - day basis, you need to be aware of the following:
a) There is NO CHANGE to how your Handicap Index is calculated.
b) New Course Handicap Tables will be available, but the ROUNDED Course Handicaps displayed are suitable only for General Play and the calculation of Match Play handicaps.
c) Competition Playing Handicaps will be system generated using full UNROUNDED Course Handicaps.
d) You will see a reduction in Playing Handicaps off Yellow tees (normally 1 or 2 strokes ), a less frequent reduction off White, and an occasional minor increase off the Ladies Red tees.
e) You will now need to sign in online for the Friday Roll Up and Summer League competitions.
f) For handicap purposes, for any holes not played, instead of the existing net par, you will now receive a system generated " Expected Score " based on the level of your Handicap Index.
g) When playing 4BBB pairs competitions you MUST continue to use the standard approach i.e. as soon as the best score has been recorded, the other player MUST pick up in order not to impact on the pace of play.
h) For Pairs Match Play the calculation of each player’s handicap reverts to 90% of the DIFFERENCE in Course Handicaps.
A more detailed notice is available on the WHS notice board and within Club Docs. under " WHS Explained ". Within the latter is also the updated WHS Player Reference Guide.
