We were blessed with a Sun-drenched weekend from start to finish, the final ingredient in what was and is a genuine expression of camaraderie between the two Clubs, enjoyed by all.
An eclectic mix of personalities make these events work and we certainly had some star performers from both sides - enough said!
By the way, the match was halved. We retained the ‘The AULD CLUB’ and made history - the first time GGC have won it back-to-back. Saturday’s ’Wee Cup’ was won by RBGC.
To cap it all PC David Sifton holed in one from the famous Blackheath ‘Chipping Out the Window’ challenge.
After the ‘long goodbye’ with our superb hosts we stepped on the bus. Buoyed-up and fuelled-up after our long-lunch - a medley of songs broke out all the way to City Airport, including some not heard, since our Rugby playing days in our 20’s.
All good fun, many thanks to our hosts Royal Blackheath GC for their fabulous hospitality throughout the weekend.
