West of Scotland 2024 Junior Strokeplay Championship
-Sunday 7 July at Wishaw GC.

Many congratulations to all 78 competitors for all turning up and to everyone for playing 18 holes despite the heavy rain showers.

It is very rare nowadays in such a large field for everyone to turn up.

As for the scoring it was outstanding in the weather conditions.

Noa Meikle (Hamilton) had a brilliant 70 (+1), just beating Thomas Kelly (Stirling) by 1 shot, to win the scratch cup.

In the handicap section we had a tie between Dominic Grant (Wishaw) and Ellie McManus (Airdrie) on nett 66 with Dominic winning 1st prize on BIH.

In Division 1 (0-6.9) Neil Rainey (Erskine) won the top prize with a nett 67, beating Riley McCann (Wishaw) by 1 shot.

In Division 2 there was some consolation for Ellie who picked up the top prize with a 66, beating her clubmate Kyle Caskey and Seumas MacCuish (Douglas Park) by 1 shot.

Results (all prizewinners will get a Foremost Golf voucher emailed out to them in due course).

Massive thanks go to Wishaw GC for giving us 3.5 hours of tee times to accommodate this massive field.

As always the welcome, assistance and hospitality from the bar team, Terry and staff from "The Kitchen" and James in the professional's shop was top notch.

A special mention to the greens team as the course was superb (especially the greens) after all the rain last yesterday and the heavy showers today.
