The early start with registration saw all competitors receive personalised tee’s, ball, and poker chip marker as a token gift for the event.
Breakfast was enjoyed whilst watching the prize table take shape with over £1,200 worth of goodies to be given away later that day.
The morning 18-hole event was a straightforward Betterball format, which results of were:
1st Place AM – Tony Murphy & Phil Winter – 44 points
2nd Place AM – Roger Charge & Richard Howells – 43 points

Following a well-deserved lunch, players headed back out for the final 10-holes in an extended Greensomes format, which results of were:
1st Place PM – Dave Arch & Richard Perrett – 25 points
2nd Place PM – Patrick Lutt & Samuel Lutt – 25 points (CB)
Following the second round, a 2-course carvery with Sirloin Beef and all the trimmings were served from the hot plate, a perfect end to a brilliant day….. The final combined results were:
1st Place Overall – Chris Lyon & Aaron Rackham - 68 points – Winning, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, and 2 Rounds at Ryder Cup Resort, The Belfry.
2nd Place overall – Dean Tyler & Shaun Carway – 68 points (CB) – Winning, Bed & Breakfast, and 2 Rounds at The Spring Resort, Oxfordshire.
3rd Place overall – Neal Harknett & Andrew O’Brien – 66 points – Winning a FootJoy Shirt & Dozen Titleist Balls each.
With price point being a driving factor, this day cost the equivalent of just £60 per person for Breakfast, Lunch & 2-Course Dinner, 28 Holes, personalised gifts and superb prizes.
I hope to keep this day alive by seeing more entries in 2025.
