… and nothing like these two. Not only were two eagles scored in the roll-up group, but both from the same player! Many congratulations to James Bain who eagled 7th and 10th - very rare and a huge achievement.
James held the rest of his round together, to come in with 42 points, take the spoils and receive fifty quid and a three shot cut for his troubles. David Ford was second on 40 and Anders Nielsen third with 39.
There were twos for Kara Catt, Peter Stocks, Paul Moran, Andrew Willson and’ of course’ James.
Bank Holiday Monday broke with tradition and weather was fine for the annual Ormston Salver. Twelve pairings took to battle in a Stableford better ball format.
Romping home with 51 points were Tim Hutchence and Kirsty McDonald. Many congratulations Tim & Kirsty
In second place, with 48 points, were Jim Whittaker and Nikki Russell.
Bronze went to Nicholas Bailey & Marti Trevethick who came in with 44.
So, James is off to the tattoo parlour to get a couple of eagles on his forearm - look forward to seeing that one!
