GGC v Turnberry Club Match
Sunday 1st September
On Sunday GGC hosted Turnberry at Killermont for the annual match that we believe has been played home and away for 20 years.

This fixture is popular with members from both clubs and Turnberry brought a very strong team who were looking forward to seeing the new clubhouse. The home side were keen to overturn a 6-0 defeat away on the Ailsa course last year!

Considering where they play most of their golf, the opposition were very impressed with condition of the course but the greens (cut and rolled) gave a distinct home advantage and, together with some outstanding performances from our higher handicappers, Glasgow won 4-2.

To commemorate the longevity of this match, Past Captain Lockhart generously donated a quaich (no K!) which was presented to GGC and will be played for in the usual friendly but fiercely-contested manner in the years to come.
