President's Cup Success for Carhart
Rhys Carhart comes out on top in an all Mountain Ash Final
Last Sunday, Glamorgan County Golf Union held the semi-final and final of their Presidents Cup tournament at Cardiff Golf Club. In order to qualify for the presidents cup, you need to finish in the top 8 of the county order of merit which is a difficult ask across the season with the best in Glamorgan competing in the events throughout the year. As the tournament progressed we reached the Semi Final stage with Rhys Carhart playing Tom Peet of Pyle and Kenfig, the current reigning County Champion.

Rhys and Tom battled it out initially 2 weeks ago in torrential conditions at Cardiff Golf Club and the match finished all square so was played again on Sunday at the same venue, in similar conditions. This time Rhys came out on top with a tight 1up win. Awaiting him in the final was Ian Flower, who had received a bye in the Semi Final.

Rhys and Ian battled it out and the rain worsened throughout, they dug it out and Rhys finished victorious with a 2&1 win, to be crowned the Glamorgan County President's Cup Winner. Well done to both competitors, doing the club proud as always and showing the rest of Glamorgan what we are capable of.
