The Course Management, Men’s Committee and Ladies Committee have agreed the following principles to be followed this winter.
1. White tees markers to be removed following confirmation from the Men’s Committee
2. 4th November par-3 mats will come into play
3. From 18th November to February the course will be flipped with all golf starting on the 9th tee. Play will be in the order 9-18, 1-8. The reasons for this are as follows;
a. To provide a short 9/10-hole buggy course (for medical exceptions only) for as often as possible throughout the winter.
b. To provide a 9-hole course for winter play (holes 9-18 excluding 15th)
c. To reduce the wear on holes 1-8. The aim is to have these holes open but with play starting on the 9th it is likely that these holes will be played less.
4. There will be a “non-qualifying season” whereby the red and yellow tee markers will be removed and there will be 2 course lengths set up for general play. These courses will be non-qualifying for handicap purposes.
a. Winter forward course – Blue tees (a mix of existing red and blue tees)
b. Winter back course – Orange tees (a mix of existing yellow and red tees)
5. Buggies will be unavailable for hire/use unless the user has a medical exemption agreed by the club (please speak to the Office for a form or more information)
6. Course closures/hole closures will be decided by the Course Manager or Designated deputy.
7. Course status will be one of the following categories throughout the winter (status 2 -5) and will be communicated on the club website and club v1 system on a daily basis.
Status 1 - No restrictions
Status 2 - Carrying, pull trollies, electric trollies, single seater buggies, 2-seater buggies medical exceptions only
Status 2a - Carrying, pull trollies, electric trollies, single seater buggies, 2-seater buggies medical exceptions only (short buggy course only)
Status 3 -Carrying, pull trollies plus electric trollies, single seater buggies. (No 2-seater buggies at all)
Status 4 - Carrying, pull trollies plus electric trollies
Status 5 - Carrying only
8. Ropes will be used to direct golfing traffic to which all golfers must adhere
