Drainage Works Update
I'm pleased to say that the drainage works are nearing completion. The ditch is now finished on the 3rd hole and the weir has been installed. The north half of the ditch has been hydro-seeded, the remainder of the ditch will be hydro-seeded early next week. Our Greenkeepers will also be installing 2 x bridges to cross the ditch. This work will be completed on Monday/Tuesday and then the 3rd hole will be back in play. It may be closed again briefly towards the end of the week for the Greenkeepers to turf the area that has been filled in the fairway near the 150 yard markers.
Our Greenkeepers have been busy turfing large areas of the stripped area on the 2nd hole. The areas that aren't being turfed have been hydro-seeded. There is still some more turf to be laid and then the bunkers will need to be lined and finished off. Whilst the 3rd hole will be back in play from the middle of next week, we will need to wait for the turf to knit and the seed to establish on the 2nd hole before this hole is back in play.
The contractors will then only need to install the 2 remaining weirs on the 4th and 10th holes before they are finished and off site. Note - whilst they carry these works out we may need to move the tees up slightly on these holes.
Over the weekend, holes 1 and 4 will be open so we will have 16 holes in play. From Wednesday, the only hole out of play will be the 2nd, and hole 17a will be in-play to give us 18 holes. Knockout matches will then be able to be played with 17a assuming the stroke index of the 2nd hole. Also from Wednesday, members will be able to submit general play scorecards again. Please note, although you will play 17a, you don't record a score for this hole. You will be allocated a nett par for the 2nd hole, so you leave this blank when entering scores.
Attached with today's latest news email are some pictures of the 2nd and 3rd holes to show you the progress this week. Note - the blue dye areas are where the hydro-seed has been applied.
I will send out a further update on Tuesday before the 3rd hole is back in play. Also, more info to come on the men's winter knockout.

A reminder that we have an a la carte Sunday Lunch with live Jazz entertainment on Sunday 17th November. The poster is attached which includes full information and the menu for the day. Note, these are the same entertainers that we have received excellent feedback about from when they performed on the Cheese & Wine night, the first Bottomless Brunch and on Fireworks night. Please contact the bar staff if you would like to book a table.
