The most fantastic evening was held at the Club/Wyke Green Golf Club with our very own Clare Balding hosting a Charity Fundraiser, "An Evening with Clare Balding and Friends". This was the latest of the captain’s sell-out Charity events with proceeds going to the wonderful Brentford Penguins, a local charity supporting youngsters with Downs syndrome.

Members, friends and guests including some of the Penguins and their families, were treated to a private and exclusive viewing of the award-winning documentary "Mighty Penguins" which charts the progress of the coach, players and their families as they prepared to form a guard of honour at one of Brentford FC's Premier League matches.

The audience was in turn amused, moved and most of all inspired. Joining Clare on stage was Penguins’ Coach and Founder Allan Cockram, Ambassador and Mum Natalie O'Rourke, and guest of honour World Champion F1 racing driver Damon Hill, for a relaxed, fun couple of hours with something for everyone.

The Club was in turn transformed firstly into a cinema and then into a TV set as never before. Thank you to all who contributed to this success and to the fundraising pot for the Penguins, including those companies and individuals who generously gave of their time and expertise. On behalf of the Penguins, it is so much appreciated.
