As we begin a New Year, it is a great time to review the start of the Williamson Cup Qualifiers. It has been really good to see so many people playing in each competition, with the tee booking system filling up well in advance. There have been seven qualifiers so far and has been some great golf on display.

The first qualifier saw a really good standard of golf with 23 players qualifying for the final with 37 points or better. Alan Clayton led the overall with 44 points and Adrian Little won Division 1 with 40. In the second qualifier, Craig Potts shot a terrific 68 gross score for 42 points winning the overall on the day. His gross score is the best score we have seen so far in the Williamson's, his round consisted of four birdies and a solo bogey.

Williamson 3 and 4 saw Simon Pritchard win the overall in back to back competitions with some excellent scores of 44 points followed by 40 points. He currently leads the order of merit due to these two wins and other good performances throughout.

Williamson 5 saw John Bell win Division 1 with 39 and Stephen Kirkpatrick win Division 2 on the same points. Martin Skowronek won the next Williamson on countback over Mark Wildey with 40 points. Gary Pollard won the best gross with a 70 and 39 points, another very good round of golf.

In the last Williamson of the Year (7), Tony Cattan scored 40 points to win the overall and d1, with Andrew Little winning the second division with 39 points. Williamson 8 was cancelled due to weather and has been rescheduled for February.

There has been lots of money made in the 2s sweepstake in each qualifier. Simon Peascod and Trevor Thompson have made 5 each so far, with David Kirkpatrick one behind them on 4. Make sure to keep bringing your 2s money each qualifier to take part and make sure none of them are Euros!

In the Order of Merit, Simon Pritchard's lead has been shortened with Trevor Thompson and Andrew Little catching up on points. Michael Kelly and Adrian Little are closing in behind them with some very consistent scores throughout the qualifiers.
