That Was the Week that Was
First party of 2025
New Year Party

Saturday night was party night, with a great turnout dancing the night away (ah no - that was a different band) to music from the other Pet Shop Boys plus a few DJ sets, in the Cube Room.

As shown above - a good time being had by all.

As publicised, there were prizes for best East End Boy and West End Girl

The former went to Pete Tyndall - guest of the GM and Bex who had travelled all the way down from the ‘pool to be with us. Pete secured his win in a three way cheer-off against fellow finalists Graham Valentine and Frank Froehlich.

A straight win for the Best West End Girl went to whom the NewsRoom only knows as Ms Rubik

The DJ, who gave a final set that ran until midnight, walked off with the winning raffle ticket prize of a luxury hamper (a little bonus for a job well done) after which retirement to the front bar for a nightcap or two was the call

Another great night at our Club with special thanks to Member for Social Activities, Gary Norman, for organising.

Sunday Roll-up

First off, big thanks to Stuart Rollings who snapped this on arrival to join the other 22 playing in the Sunday roll up yesterday. Kick-off was on frost greens, but withn 5-6 holes all were playing on full greens. Many thanks to the Green staff who tried to race ahead of the first groups to get play back to normal.

Only one 2 scored by Dorge Soley. Third place was a 35 point card countback with Will Richardson scoring 16 on the back 9 to take the bronze from Peter Stocks. In second place, Jonathan P. Sherman stepped up for the silver with 37 points. First place with 42 points (and duly receiving a 3 point cut!) was once again, Pascal Huser! Having won two weeks ago and again today, he clearly needs a visit from the handicap fairy. Also the NewsRoom are running low of new pics of him.

Congrats Pascal - now we know how you finance your collection of small expensive motors!

That’s All Folks!
