We cannot start marketing our course membership until 1st March, this is when our transition period will start with the starters office.
South Lanarkshire Council now have a steering group, and trustees attended a meeting on Monday along with heads of service for maintenance and leisure. This was a very positive meeting with discussions around a service agreement for maintenance of the course for a suitable period of time while we recruit green keeping staff and conclude legal proceedings – sorting a long-term land lease and a short-term operating lease for the transition period. Both SLC and SLLC agreed to weekly meetings to ensure a smooth transition.
The trustees have also had their first meeting with our solicitors, noting we received a grant to fully fund these legal services. Gillespie-MacAndrew have been appointed and are very experienced in this area.
There is still a lot to do before 1st April and we are now moving at a very fast pace.
We will be looking for a pool of volunteers to help us “on our journey”.
Are you a keen gardener or do you have time to keep the clubhouse tidy or welcome our members and guests in our starting office?
Do you have mechanical skills?
Can you drive a tractor?
Would you like to be a course volunteer, raking bunkers, empty bins, learn how to cut the holes, switch greens?
A few hours a week or a few days, its up to you. All volunteers would receive the right training for the role.
We are almost there, at the start of a new story for Hollandbush, be part of it, be part of history. Year one may be bumpy in places, but the board of trustees are committed to working with us all to make it a success.
We thank you for your unwavering support and we will keep in touch with progress.
