Order of Merit Champions
And the stuff from the last week and a bit
Welcome readers. It seems a while since our last edition, in which we led with the belated Christmas Fayre results. Nicely brings us on to another late one…
2024 Order of Merit
Many congratulations to the joint winners, Marks Nimmo and Stocker. The reason for the late final result, was due to the fact there were still points up for grabs in the Christmas Fayre fourball.
Mark Nimmo was on hols in the Maldives, at the time of the fourball and checking emails intently, as he and Mark Stocker were level on points, prior to this final comp in which MS was down to play.
Mark Stocker played in the Christmas Fayre fourball but couldn’t add to his merit points tally and thus the tie for Oder of Merit Champion. Many congratulations to both.
In third place, just one point behind, was Max Dawson. Max not only brings a bit of youth to the podium but the newsroom has discovered that he has also been sharing tips on his current run of great form with John Rahm. Pay attention John and put the time in on the range!
Stephenson’s Supper
Last Friday saw the annual Stephenson’s Supper & Auction with organiser Merv Edwards conducting proceedings. There was a write up on the evening in Wednesday’s newsletter, thanks Merv, so won’t repeat that. Anyone who wants to see the Runners and Riders, however, can do so using this link

Saturday Mixed Fourball Stableford
Apologies, as the newsroom wasn’t aware these results had not been published on the App but podium places were as follows:

Just out of the prizes but fully enjoying post match “if only that putt hadn’t lipped out” and “go on - twist my arm” from the left: John Barron, Gary Toal, Emelio Gardeta and Matt Jordan.
If you play in a fourball and score 42 or over send a pic in as its impossible to get them afterwards and you may well be in the medals. Next one is Saturday March 1st - still plenty of spaces so book in on the App
