Winter Open Series
Congratulations to all of our Winter Series winners and thank you to everyone that took part.
The last two events of our Winter Open Series competitions took place on Saturday 8th & Thursday 13th February.
There were some fine scores returned from Ludlow golfers in division two of the Individual Stableford on the Saturday. Battling tough conditions, John Davies lead the way with 37 points, beating Graham Clark, Simon Herdsfield and Josh Morgan by two. They took second to fourth places respectively, after a card countback.
Bridgnorth members dominated division one. Alex Grainger who is a regular supporter of our open competitions, topped the division with 39 points, 3 clear of runner up and fellow Bridgnorth member Ryan Forrest. A further shot back in third place was James Brown (Puckrup Hall) who beat Harry Burt (Wrekin) and Reece Williams (Churchill & Blakedown) on countback.
Micky Benting & Hugh McNeill (Bridgnorth) won Thursday’s Betterball Stableford scoring an impressive 45pts. Josh Skinner & Dean Tilley (Droitwich) secured second place with 44pts, one shot clear of David Balmer & Matthew McCarthy (Bransford).
The best gross score of 36pts came from Nick Bird (Kings Norton) & Neill Smith (Ludlow).
