The Past Captain’s took on a Team arranged by the Captain, Lester Pickhaver on Saturday. Senior Past Captain, Charlie Evans partnering Gary Barber went out first but Lester Pickhaver with junior Oliver Pratley were too good and won 2up.

Ian Hanley was the next Past Captain with Cas James but also lost to Tyrone Staniland & Andrew Kevern, 4&3. Phil Phaby was up next and with Alastair Paterson, gave the Past Captains their first point with a 1up win against Brian Gent & junior, Rory Hudson.

Antony Richards then levelled things up for the Past Captains, partnering Ian Rule, they had a 3&1 win over Mark Timmins and junior, Pablo Beare. Paul Horsell with Duncan MacLennan couldn’t keep the momentum going though and Geoff Baylis with junior, Yves Armstrong-Donaldson provided another win for the Captain.

Two Past Captains, Richard Glasson & Neil Fletcher took on Dean Goddard & Sam Staniland and claimed victory although with Neil not playing currently, some debatable handicap negotiations may have impacted the result!

In the penultimate match, Steve Turner partnered Rod Jenkin and for a bit of added spice they played against Dennis Fryer and Rod’s daughter, Charlotte. It was of course, Charlotte who got the better of here dad with a 2 up win. The Captain therefore lead 4-3 going into the last match.

It was immediate Past Captain, Dave Bowden with Andy Boon who has the pressure but they were able to live up to it and beat Vice-Captain Andy Hurrell and greenkeeper Jonty Jenkin to give a final result of 4-4.
