Captain's Note
A note from you Captain, Neil Ward
Dear Members,

We are now into my final weeks as Captain. How the time has flown. I have been honoured to represent the Club and humbled at how magnificently members have supported me in my Captaincy and in my charity fundraising for the Brentford Penguins. This Charity has really struck a chord with all I have spoken to this year and have been warmly welcomed whenever they or the Down Syndrome youngsters have been down to the Club. I shall report on the extent of our fundraising on or just before the Captain’s Drive-In on 23rd of March.

My final event as Captain is our Charity Quiz evening on Friday 28 February starting at 7.30 pm. Again, it is sold out. Thank you for such support. It will be another great evening. A reminder that the bar will be open throughout and food from our main menu will be available to order up to and including the interval at around 8.30pm. Prize for the winners will be a £20 M&S Gift Card per team member. Please remember along to bring your £10 cash entrance fee per person. I look forward to seeing you on the night. Good luck!

My final Charitable Appeal is for a Cash Amnesty. Most of you, like me, will have a drawer or a jug at home where all your spare coins, foreign or sterling, are left after your holidays, more than likely never to be used again. The Penguins can use them. So, whatever the currency, however small the amount, I invite you to surrender it, bring it down to the Clubhouse and drop it into one of the red collection buckets on or near the bar. No need to sort – I will do that for you, and I can guarantee the Penguins will be able to put them to good use. Of course, if you have any, we will also take discarded currency notes too along with your loose change. Combining all our small amounts will soon add up and make a great final contribution to our year of joint fund-raising. I thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart.

With Best Wishes,

Neil Ward
