It is my very sad duty to inform members that John Moffatt passed away peacefully on Saturday 1st February 2025 following a long illness.

John, who was 75 years of age, joined Druids Heath GC on 1st July 2000.

A quiet gentleman with a wry sense of humour and very much respected amongst the Saturday and Sunday 'school' which he played in during his time with us.

John last played in May 2020 having bravely continued playing through the onset of Parkinson's disease without, to my knowledge, ever complaining or saying 'why me'.

John has been sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of his company or acquaintance following having to stop playing and enjoying time with friends at the club.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Val and daughters Ruth and Andrea and the wider family at this very sad time.

Funeral Arrangements are as under:

11:00am on Friday 28th February 2025, at Hammerwich Crematorium & Cemetery, Burntwood Road, Burntwood WS7 4XE

Family flowers only but donations to Parkinsons UK in his memory would be welcomed

Following the service there will be a reception here at Druids Heath GC to support Val, Ruth and Andrea and to remember happier times with John.
