Robotic Laboratories Visit in July
Further ahead, Graham Marshment has arranged a tour of the Robotic laboratories in Bristol University through Professor Alan Winfield, who addressed the Club in March (account in the next news roundup), on Tuesday 15th July, open to both members and guests and hosted by Professor Alan.
Graham and a few others are taking up this offer but, as well as extending this invitation to all members, would welcome interest in turning it into a 48 hrs visit. Brunel’s “SS Great Britain” is exhibited in Bristol, as is a replica of the “Matthew of Bristol” which discovered Newfoundland in 1497. For a hat trick, there is also the “SS Great Western” wooden hulled paddle-wheel steamship. One or two of these might be a welcome additional item of interest over the visit if coupled with an overnight stay in a decent hotel.
It is an open decision as to the final details. If any member is interested in taking part in this visit, please would they in the first instance contact Graham to share their interest and discuss possible transport arrangements and the length of stay.
