Spring Cup Major Results
Stew Brown scoops first major
Lads,
A record 94 players took to the field in a decent mild day for our first major comp this year. Pushed back to May in hope that the course was in better condition than it usually is in April. Unfortunately not the case this time around, however, that didn't stop some good scoring coming home.
2025 Spring Cup went to a popular man among the membership, also known for his generous sharing of pork pies within his playing group. Shooting a nett 68, Mr Stewart Brown. Well played mate. First name on the board for the clubs 2025 season.
2nd went to my winter league partner, Matt Cheffins, missing out by 1 shot. Unlucky partner, great knock.
3rd was new member Anish Kumar, but unfortunately cannot take the prize due to not meeting the qualifying criteria for a major. Get them remaining few qualifiers in mate and you can take a prize maybe next time. Therefore 3rd defaults to last years skipper, Robbie Surman. Despite getting soaked by the broken sprinkler on 8 he managed to shoot 2 under his handicap.
Lowest gross went to Paul Wilson with 75.

Also mid week comps start this week on Wednesday. £5 entry playing off the 138 tees, New members, this works slightly different to the weekend comps. Find some playing partner/s, book at tee with the proshop/BRS. Sign into the competition on the HDID app, Click todays golf, sign in, select mid week stableford, it will say you are entering the mid week stableford and is charging you £5 and give you your handicap. Fill out a card and get it marked by your partner. Enter score into the computer or mobile and put card in the box after.
