2025 Spring Meetings
Four days of very competitive golf
Obviously the weather was fantastic and even more so, the condition of the course. For those of you who follow the WhatsApp channel you will have seen the course team out, after play, getting the course ready for the next day. (You will have also seen the results so that’s a bit of a spoiler alert!)
Day One - The Higgins Cup
This was played on the Friday with 138 competitors taking part, on the first of the spectacular Spring Meeting days
Mark Thomas took the cup with a nett 64. Jamie Terry was runner up, also with a 64 and Mike Bassett third on 68.
Day Two - The Barnett Cup & Gold Medal
The men’s Barnett Cup & Gold Medal were played on the Saturday with 119 players taking part
Richard Lord took The Gold Medal with a round of 75, which included four birdies and seven pars. A couple of doubles coming in the only blots on a fine card. Many congrats Lordy and well done for making your tee off time (old joke)
Stephen Caplen won the Barnett Cup with a nett 66. James Lascelles was second and Dan West third, both on 67
Day Three - Queen Victoria Cup
Congratulations Peter Walsh on winning the Queen Victoria Cup with a nett 64.
Vice Captain Bill Boucher was second with 65 and Clive Anthony Armstrong third on 66
Ladies Spring Meeting Day One - Gross Competition
The Ladies Spring Meeting scratch event took place on the Friday and was won by Kirsty MacDonald with a round of 85
Helen Murray took Div II - many congratulations both
Ladies Spring Meeting Day Two - Stableford Competition
Yesterday the 2025 Spring Meeting concluded with the Ladies Stableford
Philippa Nunn won the event with an impressive 41 points helped along by a hole-in-one on 8! Double congratulations to Philippa!
Jo Heath (pictured right of Lady Captain Lucia Albrecht) took the Div II Stableford prize with 38 points - very well done Jo!
A most successful Spring Meeting and hats off to the teams for the way the course presented and the overall administration. The course is currently closed for maintenance but will be handed back after 1pm on Friday
