Airdrie Golf Club
Clubhouse Security
We had an incident earlier this week when a man entered the clubhouse through the Gents Locker Room door which had not been closed properly. This person then accessed the bar and began acting in an aggressive manner towards the staff on duty. Fortunately, the situation was defused and he eventually left. The police were informed, came to the club and took statements.

The club has a duty of care to protect its staff and we must insist that the doors to the Gents and Ladies Locker Rooms, as well as the Main Entrance, remain closed at all times. All members have been issued with door access cards; if you have lost yours please contact the Secretary and he will arrange for a replacement.

Please DO NOT, under any circumstances, leave doors open to make life easier for others to enter the clubhouse.

In addition to this simple step you may find that, if you come off the course in the late evening, there is no direct access to the locker rooms. There will be access through the main front entrance before the clubhouse closing time. For security reasons it is important that we limit the number of access points later at night when bar staff may not have the comfort of a number of people around.

While it is disappointing that we have to take these steps, I am sure you will understand that they are necessary following this week's incident.

Thank you for your cooperation.
