Saturday 10th May – Centenary Bowl: This was won by Dan Brown 84 – net 69, he played awesome and finished 6-6-6 but it was still enough. Great first 15 holes Dan!
Oi, oi Aaron Turner only one (2) scored out of 53 entries. £££ Kerching to you – well done
Juniors: This week, 14th May, Nathan (who looks after all the juniors) is starting a Wednesday evening 9 hole knockabout only using 3 clubs and a putter. This helps the juniors practice different types of shots. Encouraging them to use the clubs they may not normally use, which will help improve their game-play.
June 6th: Our Captain’s Hire A Hero day is getting closer. If anybody wants to sponsor a hole, a tee box or even a nearest the pin, please get in contact with Phil Quinlan asap. This is gonna be a massive day.
Events coming up: Friday May 23rd – quiz night, hosted by me, we have space for one more team, book through Jayne in the office.
Monday 23rd June – Roy Lewis Charity Texas Scramble.
Course Updates: I’ve just come back from a 10-day break and wow, wow, wow, I can’t believe our greens. What a difference 10 days has made! The praise and feedback I’m getting is brilliant. Dean Franks, hold your head up high my friend – wonderful job. P.S. our greens are now faster than East Brighton and the Dyke - quoted by Kev Woolley, 9 handicap.
Wildlife Watch: Some of you may have seen a stoat, some may not, now is the best time to see them. Mostly around dawn or dusk. James from the Pro Shop has seen them around the 10th tee box. In fact they are all over the course. A stoat will eat small mammals, birds & eggs and sometimes you will see them carrying their young in their mouth which can be mistaken for prey.
Pro Shop Remember to take all your old clubs into the Pro Shop and get big discounts on part exchange.
Bar We have Zero % Guinness Micro draught on tap. It will be available next week. Go and see our bar staff and buy one!
Restaurant Pulled pork in a naan flatbread with BBQ sauce – tried and tested by me, delicious!
