Saturday 10th May was our Annual Charity Day when the club's members, together with visiting teams from the region, come together to raise money for the Captains' chosen charities for the year which this year are The Alzheimer's Society and Ely Baby Bank.

The day was sunny and warm, the course in fantastic condition and the scores were high. Without exception members and visitors alike praised the presentation of the course, the quality of the catering and their overall enjoyment of the day.

Winners of the members' fourball betterball competition were Dan Marshall and Owen Paynter scoring a fantastic 50 points off handicaps of 5.3 and 14.9 respectively.

In the team event the Links, represented by Men's Captain James Greenall, Barry Peak, Sarah Reardon and Sarah Greenall saw off the opposition with another great score of 90 points.

Overall these competitions, together with the various fundraising activities taking place on and off the golf course, raised a whopping £15,000 for the charities.

On their behalf we would like to extend a big thank you to all of the members who contributed to the day, whether as players, volunteer helpers or donors of items for the raffle and silent auction. Please know that the contribution you have made to these charities is greatly appreciated.
