BGS Mens TSU Team News Number 2
Welcome to this weeks Team News, our fixture this week was away at Darlington Golf Club who were relegated from Division one last season.

The team was down to the bare bones this week due to holidays and work commitments, so to only lose by 14 points to 10 points was a tremendous achievement by all the 12 players who committed to play, and both myself and Neil were to say very proud of everyone of the team, which included an appearance from my fellow team manager Neil Kerr.
The scratch section losing 7 points to 5, our winners were Paul McGrath 1up and a fantastic win by Steve Smart winning 5 & 3 and a great half by Graeme Speight our losing players were all close games but our loses were Andy Hood, Graeme Nimmo and Taylor Briggs. I have to mention that the Darlington scratch section handicaps were as follows +1,0,0,0,2&5 so you now know how tough it is to play against these lads where our lowest handicap player is 3.
The handicap section also lost by 7 points to 5. Our winners were Marc Symington 6&4,Will Bellerby 2&1 and a great half by our team manager Neil Kerr who came back from 3 down with 3 holes to play to gain a valuable 1 point. Our losing players were Daniel Spence losing his first game of the season, Phil Chadwick 2&1, Darren Hurst 2&1. Well done to everyone a great result away from home.
I would also like to thank Darlington Golf club for their hospitality, the food was excellent and the course was in fantastic condition; all our players giving great compliments on both these points.
Now a big thank you to our band of supporters who turn up home and away, our Captain Glen Brocklesby, Mike Lee, Colin Spence, Tom Lee, Terry Conlon, Craig Ewen, and not forgetting our resident OAP Robert Scotney Smith who was well looked after the Darlington ladies with free cake and coffee. And last but not least, my helper Stewart Openshaw, the players really appreciate your support.

Our next fixture is a home game on Wednesday 28 May 2025 against Hunley.

I am looking forward to seeing as many people as possible coming along to cheer on the team it’s got to better than watching soaps on TV.

With Thanks.
Tiger & Neil
