Hopwood hops over the line by one
Past Captains Salver
On Friday 13th it was unlucky for 8 Past Captains who were unable to match the mastery of Mr John Hopwood Esq in the 10-hole Stableford competition played in blazing sunshine.
John amassed a score of 23 points to pip last years winner Mr. Fred Simeons Esq by one point with Club President Howard Thornton coming 3rd with 21 points.
In the evening 15 past Captains attended for an excellent 4 course meal which was enjoyed by all with those no longer with us also having a toast raised in their memory. We would all like to wish Stuart Low a speedy recovery from his recent illness and hope to see him back up the club soon.
The trophy was presented to this year’s winner by the Immediate Past Captain, Howard Kellett.
