Barton Shield squad leads team success
Sunday was a successful day on multiple front for Portsalon teams, with the Barton Shield side leading by example.
Under the tutelage of Ryan McGettigan, the team of Ryan, Michael Campbell, Shane Magee and Michael Shiel fought their way to matchplay wins against Portrush in the morning and Strabane in the afternoon, with both matches played at Barnhill in Letterkenny. Two very fine wins for the Portsalon team against quality opposition.
Joe Hensey's Donegal Seniors beat Cruit 4-1 at home, while Dermot Shields and his Donegal Junior League team completed a second leg win over Dunfanaghy, while Eamonn McConigley's Mixed Foursomes were victorious in Omagh.
Commiserations to Sean Barrett, DP Logue, Cathal Roarty and Ciaran McLoughlin as the Minor League, Junior Cup and Ulster Fourball teams were eliminated over the weekend.
