The fence surrounding the new 14th has been removed. This area is currently not in play and should be considered as greenkeeper works/abnormal ground conditions/Ground Under Repair (GUR). Relief should be taken in accordance with Rule 16.1. We kindly request that players refrain from playing from this area while it continues to develop.
Irrigation Works
With the irrigation works now complete and most areas recovering well, there may be occasions when you find yourself on one of the lines between sprinklers or a newly turfed area near the new control boxes. This scenario falls under greenkeeper works, abnormal ground conditions, or Ground Under Repair (GUR). Relief should be taken in accordance with Rule 16.1.
Path next to 12th green
For health and safety reasons, a blocking sleeper has been placed at the beginning of the 13th tee path to prevent buggies from using this route. All buggies are required to utilise the designated buggy path located off the edge of the fairway to access the 13th tees.
Re Introduction of a Local Rule
Due to the placement of greenside sprinklers and the expansion of runoff areas, we have decided to re-examine a local rule that was discontinued a few years ago concerning sprinkler heads situated around the green in the line of play.
Model local rule F-5
Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under Rule 16.1.
The player has an extra option to take relief when such immovable obstructions are on or close to the putting green and on the line of play:
Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is:
On the line of play, and is:
On or within two club-lengths of the putting green, and
Within two club-lengths of the ball.
But complete relief must be taken, which includes both physical and line of play interference.
