Gorleston win against Bungay Away
On Wednesday 18th June , on a lovely sunny afternoon , the Gorleston ladies Silver Jubilee Shield team of Vera Woolnough, Jackie Walsh,Pauline Phillips,Janette Hetherton, Gail Chapman, Linda Atkinson, Ros Woodhouse,and Jenny Watson travelled to Bungay golf club for their match against Woodbridge golf club.
During the afternoons play all the matches were keenly contested. Gorlestons first pair Jackie and Vera had a tough match but came on strongly to win the last hole 1 up.
Our second pairing of Pauline and Janette took the opposition all the way to the last hole, only to lose 1 down.
Gorlestons 3rd pairing of Gail and Linda played superbly to finish winning 3 up with 2 to play, which gave Gorleston a 2 to 1 lead.
Gorlestons last pairing of Ros and Linda played some great golf and led the match 1 up with 1 to play, meaning Woodbridge had to win the hole to force a play off.
In front of our Ladies President Anne and a good crowd of supporters, who had travelled to Bungay, Ros and Jenny won the last hole making Gorleston the 3 to 1 winners.
