Seniors Perform in County Event
Good scoring just not quite enough
WCGC was represented by a Seniors team in the Cornwall Golf Union Over 55s Team Championships at Mullion GC on Tuesday 24th June.
A huge field of 26 clubs from across Cornwall took part in this year’s event. Three pairs from each club played a better ball medal format with each pair’s nett score aggregated to a club total.
Final aggregate nett scores ranged from 182 (Winners - Trethorne) to 212 (26th place).
WCGC posted a total score of 188 (a combined 19 under par), resulting in a creditable 2nd place!
Individual results were: Chris Maw/Nick Watters (nett 61), Fred Grist/Tom Gair (nett 63) and Dennis Fryer/Tony Dickinson (nett 64), finishing 4th, 13th and 16th respectively from a total of 78 pairs.
