Ayrshire Hospice Golfathon
Dawn till Dusk Golf Fundraising
In just over 5 hours' time, seasoned charity fundraiser and member Rikki Black will take on his 12th and final dawn till dusk golfathon for the Ayrshire Hospice. He will be joined again this year by his eldest son Ewan, as both men attempt to play as many holes as possible in the one day.

Throughout the past decade, Rikki and his band of merry men have raised in excess of £200,000 for the charity and wishes to go out on a high during his final golfathon attempt.

This will be Ewan's second golfathon and he knows only too well how difficult the task will be. Rikki has said it will be his hardest one yet, but both father and son are determined to power through the rounds and make as many birdies as possible. Youngest son Callum is unable to partake this year but will be supporting alongside the rest of their family and friends.

With sunrise around 4:30am, Rikki and Ewan will be joined by Club Captain Dave Walker, to kick off their day, joining them for at least their first round.

The team have setup a Just Giving page and are appealing for sponsorship of their birdie count or indeed just a donation, all of which will be gratefully received.

With the weather not looking great at some parts of the day, Rikki and Ewan would be delighted to have some caddie support by pushing trollies. If you can spare some time during the day, you will be made most welcome. Bring your chat and some good jokes.

If you are out playing tomorrow, we ask for you to stand aside and let the duo play through as they press on with their quest. Your support is greatly appreciated.

From us all at Irvine Golf Club, best wishes to you both and let the birdie fest commence!
