June Update
Dear Member,
Please find below the latest competition information from the Handicap & Competitions Committee.
CAPTAINS PRIZE – Sunday 6th July & Sunday 13th July 2025
This is a two week competition. The first week is a medal round which should be booked through BRS in the usual way. The second week is a Stableford competition with a 1000 Shotgun Start.
The winner of the overall Captains Prize will be decided by subtracting the stableford points gained in week 2 from the medal score posted in week 1. The Captain’s Prize will be awarded in the Spike Bar following the golf on week 2. Tees for the shotgun start will be allocated in merit order following play in week 1 with the best scorers starting on the 1st tee. Each week’s competition will be a competition in its own right with the usual prizes available to be won. If you play in week one but cannot play in week two, please let us know so that we do not allocate you a tee.
Wednesday Evening Mixed 10-Hole Competition
There has been some confusion over this competition. Please note that this is a non-qualifying ten-hole competition played from the yellow tees. Our caterers are staying open on Wednesdays to allow you to avail yourselves of their fine fayre following your game of golf. Please make every effort to give them your support.
MEMBERS INVITATION DAY
This will be a team event taking place on Sunday 10th August 2025. Booking will open via V1 next Tuesday at 2100. Further details will be circulated via Club News on V1 and by email to members over the next few days.
PAR 3 CHALLENGE
This popular feature will again be played alongside The Jubilee Shield (August 3rd). Once again there will be magnificent prizes to be won for a hole-in-one including £5,000 for a hole-in-one on the 8th. More details will be circulated nearer the date.
OOM STABLEFORD 9 (Tuesday 5th August, 2025)
Due to an event being hosted at Lee Park on the above date, this Order of Merit Competition will now be played at the end of the OOM Series on September 2nd 2025. There will not be a Men’s competition on Tuesday August 5th.
SURVEY
This Sunday, the survey from this committee will be available for the last time before we collate results. If you haven’t already completed one, please do so and post it into the card box in the Spike Bar. We welcome your views.
