Seniors Struggle at Carlyon Bay
An unsuccessful first visit
WCGC Seniors travelled to Carlyon Bay GC on Friday 27th June for the return fixture after their convincing home win back in March. However, the away leg proved significantly tougher, with home advantage giving the hosts the edge.

The first three pairings all struggled to dominate despite great weather and a relatively easy course. A first away point was eventually bagged by the pairing of Kelvin Searle/David Inch (W 2&1) who held off strong opposition. The hosts then returned a 4th win before the ship was steadied with wins from Dave Phillips/David Winks (W 1Up) and Mark Adams/Geoff Baylis (W 4&3). Well done also to Steve Blyth for picking up the nearest the pin prize.

The final result was a 5-3 win for the hosts. However, over both legs the Seniors can be pleased with an excellent 9 1/2 to 6 1/2 win.

Up next, a sort trip to Cape Cornwall on Tuesday 8th July.
