Ladies Results, Captain's Day, Bognor Challenge Weekend, Daniel Hoare Day
Ladies Langmead Results
54 ladies played in the first round of the Langmead competition last Tuesday and 55 ladies played in the second round yesterday. I sent the first round results out last week but, now they are attached with today's latest news email showing the prize money allocation.
In terms of yesterday's second round, congratulations to Jo Owen for winning the event with a nett 67, beating Jane Russell on countback. Lynda Pinsent came third with a nett 68, with Chloe Briance in fourth on countback with a nett 69. The full results are attached with today's latest news email.
In terms of the 36 hole competition, congratulations again to Jo Owen for winning the competition with rounds of 67 + 66 an 11-under handicap total of 133. Karen Crichton came second with rounds of 63 + 73 an 8-under handicap total of 136. June Salt came third with rounds of 65 + 72 a 7-under handicap total of 137. Captain's Charity Raffle
Please see below a note from our Club Captain, Ian Stoneham, about his upcoming Captain's Day.
Dear Member,
With just under 4 weeks to go until Captain’s Day I’d like to ask a favour please. This years Captain’s charity is the Golf Foundation supporting young people into golf whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle.
As in previous years we will be running a raffle on the day and during the evening I’ll auction off a few lots which have been generously donated. If you wish to purchase tickets in advance you can buy these at the bar from tomorrow. Tickets will be £1 each or £5 for 6. They will also be sold on the day.
If you are in a position to donate a prize or auction lot please drop them into the office as soon as possible. If you are a local business and wish to donate a prize, service, or a little funding so we can purchase prizes on your behalf, it will be gratefully received and your business will be promoted on the day. The Golf Foundation has kindly offered 2 pairs of tickets for the PGA Championship at Wentworth this year for any day of your choosing. I’m also hoping to offer a few 4 ball vouchers for auction so watch this space.
Other prizes generously donated include a voucher for Finos, The India Raj and tickets for Chichester Festival Theatre.
I’ll update you further in the days leading up to the event but in the meantime I sincerely hope you’ll join Sara and me on the day and share a glass or two with us at the gazebo.
If you would like to bid on an auction lot but can’t attend on the day please let me know your maximum bid and I’ll submit it as appropriate.

The closing date for entries into the events on Bognor Challenge Weekend is this Sunday. We currently have the following spaces available:
Bognor Challenge Cup - Saturday 26th July - 9 spaces left available
Davis Bowl - Sunday 27th July - spaces left available for 11 pairs
Millbourn Cup - Sunday 27th July - spaces left available for 3 pairs
You can book via the Club V1 app. Full information about all of the events is also on the app.
Daniel Hoare Charity Day - Sunday 24th August
The entry form is now available for the Daniel Hoare Charity Day on Sunday 24th August, and it is attached with today's latest news email. If you would like to play, please return the form to the club office.
Please note, if oversubscribed, priority will be given to teams that have played in the event in previous years.
