On Saturday we hosted the Bognor Challenge Cup which is a 36-hole nett medal competition open to members and visitors. We had a full field of 73 players for this event. Congratulations to Clive Harding for winning the Bognor Challenge Cup with scores of 68 + 63, a 9-under handicap total of 131. The full results are attached with today's latest news email.
On Sunday we hosted the Davis Bowl and the Millbourn Cup, both events open to both members and visitors. The Davis Bowl is an 18-hole Foursomes Stableford competition and this year we had a full field of 96 players. Congratulations to Darren Bailey and Kris Drudge (visitors) who won the event for the second year in a row, this time with 42 points. John Cable and Paul Brennan came second, also for the second year in a row.
The Millbourn Cup is an 18-hole Fourball Better Ball Bogey competition ... for most of the field! We had two groups that played Stableford, but we won't name names! Again, we had a full field for this event with 140 players. Congratulations to Thomas Hendrick and Reuben Austin for winning the competition with a fantastic score of +11. They won on countback from Ross Akmenkalns and Lee Meyer.
Ladies Jerdein Salver
The Jerdein Salver was played at Copthorne Golf Club this year. There was a big field of 90 ladies competing, Sue Sidebotham and Karen Crichton represented Bognor. It was a tough day, the course (like most) was suffering from lack of rain which made it quite challenging in parts. Sue and Karen fought hard but couldn’t match some of the high scores recorded. It was a very enjoyable day and well organised.
Thank you both for representing Bognor.
