COURSE NEWS 3rd AUGUST
Typical Summer Week
Another typical summer week - lots of activity, short-staffed, and a very busy course. We had 8 mm of rain, including 3 mm earlier on Friday. There are areas of dry patch which have been so severe they have damaged the grass, but it will recover.

We had to stimp on Friday in the wet, but still found 9’ 1”.

We hope to welcome our long-term sick greenkeeper back shortly. He reports the surgeon is very pleased with his knee recovery.

We have had a site visit from a bore hole contractor to assess the potential for switching course irrigation water from mains supply to ground water. Preliminary findings are very encouraging, but more detailed assessment will follow.
