We had a great turnout with 19 players, who entered the 18 hole competition teeing off first, followed by 12 younger and less experienced players, who entered the 9 hole stableford Club Championship.
The standard of golf was high producing some amazing scores in near perfect conditions.
Congratulations to Riley Finch, our 2025 Junior Club Champion, who won both the scratch and handicap cups with an incredible Gross 78 Nett 61. Riley was followed closely by Lucas Brooks who achieved a fantastic Nett 62 to gain second place. In third place, with a superb score of Nett 65, was Lennon Punter.
The winner of the 9 hole competition and the trophy, with a fabulous score of 24 points was, Leo Woolnough. In second place with an amazing 21 points was Max Leuty, followed closely by Ralph Neal, in third place with 20 points.
Well done to all our young golfers that took part in the competitions.
These events take quite a bit of organisation, especially if they have to be re-scheduled, so a huge thanks to Duncan and the Competitions Committee for making the day a success.
Thanks to our starter Howard Kellett, our ball spotters Debbie Jary and Jordan Page with Stu making sure that all of the first drives were located, to ensure a smooth start to everyone’s game.
Thanks to the Club’s Vice Captain, Andrew Clifford, for presenting the winners with their trophies. Unfortunately, our Club Captain, an extremely disappointed David Mills was unable to attend, due to the competition’s change of date and a previous commitment.
Thanks to our supporters, with family and friends of our junior section, who are always present to help these events become great days in our golfing calendar.
I know you would all like to join me in sending good luck wishes to Riley Finch who qualified for the ‘Race to Woodhall Spa’ national final which is taking place on 12 August. Riley won the regional final at Sheringham Golf Club in May, a great achievement!
