The consultation refers to the land currently leased by the Club from Leicester City Council and the Council’s land to the south of ‘Long Tom’. The proposed outline submission will be for 190 new homes and is referred to as “the first phase of the wider Scraptoft North allocation.
The public consultation is the next stage following the information discussed at the informal meetings held by the Club’s Management on 11th March and is in line with our expectations of the actions that Parkers would take.
We have been in discussions with Parkers and their advisors in the period from March up to mid-May to ensure that they are also processing a further application on the golf course land owned by the Club’s Trustees within the near future.
For information the original allocation of Scraptoft North in the existing Harborough Local Plan is still the Council’s policy, although this is likely to change once the proposed Local plan covering 2021 – 2041 is adopted. The adoption is likely to be late 2026/early 2027, so it is important that Parker proceed as quickly as possible to secure planning on the area covered by the existing Scraptoft North allocated site.
Once we have further information regarding the above, we will keep the Club’s membership informed.
