Midweek Stableford Results, 200 Club, 4 Team Challenge, Grayson Cup
Men's Midweek Stableford Results
Apologies for the delay in sending these results out. 72 men played in the Midweek Stableford competition last Wednesday. Congratulations to Michael Lanham for winning division one with 43 points. Andy Hamilton was in second with 39 points. In division two, Eddie Smith won with 41 points with John Sixsmith in second with 40 points. The full results are attached with today's latest news email.
200 Club August Event Report
Enjoying wonderful unbroken sunshine, 24 teams took to the course to play in the 200 Club annual golf competition. The format was the ever popular 1,2 or 3 to count, players not finding out which until they reached the green.
In 2nd place with an impressive score of 92 points were:-
Frances Paine, Georgina McCormack, Shelia Hendrick and Ian Paine.
In 1st place with a superb score of 97 points were:-
Kay Dady, Kim Mercer, Ian Mercer and Derek Dady.
Congratulations to both teams who received their prizes during the evening event.
The evening event began at 6.30 and, as we have come to expect, did not disappoint. Simon, Pete and the team produced a magnificent buffet of hot and cold foods for 120 players and guests, every conceivable taste being catered for. Thanks go to all of the kitchen and bar staff for their hard work. Thanks also to Steen, Michelle and all in the office who, as ever, are a great help to us.
Next on the agenda was the Grand Draw - 2 members winning £1000 and £500 respectively. Chef Pete drew the winning number 81 which belonged to Rob Thomas. The £500 prize was won by number 200 (!) belonging to Angela Allen. Unusually and unfortunately neither winner was in attendance but both were notified during the evening and were delighted!
We were then ready for our entertainment provided by the lovely Beth. Neither of us had heard Beth before but were assured that she had performed at the club on many occasions and was well received. Well!!! We were absolutely delighted - her amazing voice and brilliant repertoire had the dance floor buzzing all night. Thanks so much Beth!
There were a few encores (!) and then the day had to finish approximately 12 hours after it started.
We enjoyed every moment and thank all those who helped make the day so special and also to all those members who support the 200 club. We couldn’t ask for more.

4 Team Challenge - Intermediates/Juniors Needed
The 4 Team Challenge competition is taking place on Saturday. This is a 16 a side match between the Men, Ladies, Seniors and Intermediates/Juniors. After a few withdrawals, we require 4 Intermediates/Juniors to play to make up the full numbers. If you fall into this category, and would like to play, please reply to this email to let us know.
Grayson Cup - This Weekend
A reminder that the Grayson Cup competition being played this weekend, is open to both men and ladies to play in. The main day is Sunday, with the alternate day taking place on Saturday. This is a Stableford competition and for the men it is also a Hollymead Cup qualifying event.
