Core Blimey!
Core Blimey!
On Monday, we had the annual coring/hollow tining work done on the greens. The contractor was there early and after the greens team had scarified the greens, the contractor had the coring process done within a couple of hours. The hard graft started around 7.00 am as the cores pulled out of the greens then needed to be collected prior to the greens being top dressed with seed, soil and nutrients.
Around 15 volunteers turned up over the next few hours to push the cores off the greens and get them on to the trailer for composting.
Thank you so much to all the volunteers who came down. This is a back breaking job and the many hands definitely made light work of this mammoth task.
The greens will recover from this process over the next couple of weeks ahead of Lady Captain's Day and President's Day during September.
