On Saturday 23 August, 98 Members and their guests took part in our annual Killermont Guest Invitational. The weather held up dry for the day but unfortunately the sun decided to have a day off for most of it.

Regardless, the golf all ran to time and flowed well throughout the day and by all accounts our course was thoroughly enjoyed by our guests. Refreshments were provided at the 11th tee to help fuel those involved over the last 8 holes!!

The scoring was very good with the prize winners as below:-

First place with 49 points – Stephen Miller and Andrew MacGregor

On count back we had three prize winners on 47 pts

Second place, Douglas McMillan and Cameron Donaldson

Third place, Chris Docherty and Grant Carnegie

Fourth place, Lesley Wilkie and Katie Corrigan

And in fifth place with 45 pts again on count back, Graham McDonald and Jim Allan

Well done to all of our prize winners.

Off the course we were all “fed and watered” and very well looked after by Kevin and his team with many people still in Kelvin Suite approaching 23.00 hrs.

A huge thank you is expressed to all GGC staff and also to the Members and their guests involved in making the event a huge success. Well done to everyone.

As far as the Captain’s Charity, Home Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire, is concerned a raffle was conducted by our Captain with many fabulous prizes for the lucky winners. With the very kind generosity of our Members and their Guests a sum of approximately £2,700 was raised. A fantastic sum and your generosity is very much appreciated.

In conclusion a great day was enjoyed by all.
