Broken Tees
New Boxes for Tees
Good morning all,

We are all used to the sight of broken tees lying around and we are about to start a trial of a possible solution. Scott Gammie of George McBain Fabrications has generously donated a box which will give us somewhere to deposit the broken pieces.

You might be wondering why we are going to the trouble of setting up this trial but broken tees actually cause a lot of problems.
• They damage the blades on the mower used to cut the tee areas. That leads to increased operating costs and a reduction in time spent working on other jobs.
• They all have to be picked up before patching and mowing. That uses up time that could be much better spent on other work.
• All those broken pieces are really unsightly. There are bins at every odd hole but many players just don't use them. Having a dedicated receptacle right at the tee might help encourage better habits.
Please don't leave tees in the ground either. They all have to be dug out before any work can be done. If you use a tee then, after your shot, you should walk off with it or leave broken pieces in the box or bin. Of course there may be times that you're unable to find your tee so if you come across a stray broken tee you could really help out the greens team by putting it in the tee box or bin. There shouldn't be many.

I hope that everyone will support the Club in this trial. If it gets the support of the members then we'll look at getting further boxes made so hopefully we can-
• Reduce costs.
• Increase time spent working on other jobs on the course.
• Improve the course conditions and help promote WGC.
The box will be put out on the 2nd Tee on Tuesday in preparation for the course opening again on Wednesday.

Thanks in anticipation of your support.
