I caught up with Andy on Sunday after congratulating him on a strong week in Ireland and a fine top-six finish on the Legends Tour. When I asked him how it went, he summed it up perfectly:
> “Played lovely!! And in crap weather too! So kind of happy with that. Hitting the driver very well.”
The conditions were brutal, with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times, making the course barely playable. Despite that, Andy produced a very steady and composed round.
Front Nine: Level par with 1 birdie, 1 bogey, and 7 pars.
Back Nine: 2 birdies, 1 bogey, and 6 pars.
That left him with 34 putts on the day—solid given the testing weather. Andy admitted he would have liked a few more to drop, but he was clearly satisfied with how he handled the round.
All in all, it was another consistent performance, and Andy was genuinely happy with his golf over the week, capped off with yet another top-ten finish.
The tournament was eventually won by Markus Brier, who produced a superb final score of 12-under par to take the title.
Well done Andy — another brilliant top-ten finish in tough conditions. We’re all proud of the way you’re flying the flag on the Legends Tour!
