Andrew, Richard and Philip take top spot
Thankfully the storm from the previous couple of days had moved on but left a cold wind and wet golf course making the conditions a little tricky. It was the team of Andrew Mason, Richard Dourley and Philip Kilkenny that mastered the conditions the best shooting 63 to win by 2 shots from 4 teams on 65.
Andrew, Richard and Philip recovered from a bogey at 7 to birdie 8 and 9 to be out in 33. They stepped it up on the back 9 coming home in 33 finishing off in style with a birdie at 18. Well played lads.
It was tight for second with the team of Stuart Crookston, Peter Baird and Steven Hardie just doing enough on countback. Out in 34 they only had 3 birdies after 15 holes but a storming birdie, birdie, birdie finish saw them home in 31 to win by a shot. In third place was the team of Richard Boden, Kevin Brunton and Jamie Rankin. They got off to a fast start and were 3 under par after 4 holes but stuttered with bogeys at 8 and 11 before a run of 2, 4, 2, 2 from 13 to 16 helped them back in 32 to win on last 6 countback. Also on 65’s and just losing out were the teams of Brian Lee, Alan Lambert Thomson and Stewart McKay and Mark Wardrop, Alan Rome and Steven Johnston.
The winners get £10 each in the sweep, the runners up £6.00 each and third place £4.00 each.
There were 3 birdies at the 15th. Well done to the teams of R Boden, K Brunton and J Rankin, D Saunders, N Henderson and K Conway and A Nugent, L Conner and J Douglas winning £5.33 each in the sweep.
