It's been another busy few weeks at the club, definitely assisted by the excitement of the Ryder Cup. The anticipation of the matches, the euphoria of Friday and Saturdays excellent golf and then the tough watch that ensued on Sunday evening... What an amazing spectacle, enjoyed by many members here in the clubhouse, especially on Friday and Saturday evening, which was great to see.
The club continues to go from strength to strength, we are finally starting to tick off a few 'bigger' jobs that for several years we simply haven't been able to afford. The new green keepers building will be constructed as of mid November, the driveway entrance will be re-surfaced as of the 20th October and we have begun trying to plan and cost the renovation to the upstairs of the clubhouse. Said clubhouse project is very much in it's infancy but the wheels are turning and we will keep everyone up to date with our plans, costings and if viable potential timescales as and when we know more.
Our social diary has been full this year. John, Val, Pauline, Sandra and I have ensured there has been an event every month throughout 2025. All events have been sell outs, which has ignited John's drive for even bigger, better events in 2026....
My thanks to the social team for thier consistency and drive to get these events advertised and more importantly attended!
With social events in mind, please remember we have Bingo Night on the 24th October and Wine Tasting on the 7th November. Closely followed by the BIG end of season bash! ON Saturday 22nd November, this is being held off site in order to increase the numbers able to attend.
Bookings for all events can be made at the bar or by emailing me by return.
PITCH MARKS!!!!!
Pitch marks were awful on Sunday.... I personally repaired at least four on every green that were fresh and therefore made by a fellow member that very morning.
The green keepers also repaired dozens on Monday morning.
This time of year even a chip shot makes a mark, please repair your marks and any others you might see.
PRO SHOP
We will take delivery of new Pro-Quip Waterproof suits this week. One of the suits comes with a lifetime waterproof guarantee and is under the £200 mark for the jacket and under the £350 mark for a complete suit, this is before members discount!!
There's also a short sleeve water proof jacket option and an entry level Jacket for under £100. All of which are full stretch and modern in look.
Matts done a great job this year keeping the shop ticking over for the club. It's a tricky area of the business to make a profit from but Matt's ensured the shop, much like the rest of the business will have a good year.
