Thank goodness to our rescheduled start time of 11am from 7.40am. In horrendous conditions early doors WCGC Presidents team battled through wind and rain to secure an impressive victory against Mawgan Porth at Perranporth this Sunday.

Our lead man Steve Turner couldn’t quite get on with the wind but Iain Stephan battled second out to win on the last. Andre Otto sought a similar result on the last with a strong fight back only to thwarted by his opponent and lose 1 down.

Thereafter the team pressed on with halves from Steve Beer and Stephen Appleby before the tail wagged with interest. Charl Van Neikerk winning 4 & 2, Scott Chandler winning 2 & 1, Warwick Holland winning 6 & 4 and Dean Goddard an impervious win 7 & 6.

Special note goes to Stephen Appleby who snapped his driver in the practice net before starting and Jason Perkin who battled all the elements to support the team from the back of his motorbike…..Jason bring your clubs next time round in your top box please!.
