Captains Corner
October round up
Well that’s a wrap for the competitive golf season and what a month it has been for the club, after several months of trying to win away in our club matches 2 came along this month with a comprehensive 4.5-1.5 win over Aspley guise and the same score line against a tidy Bedfordshire team , full results will follow next month.

The scratch team had an excellent semi final win in the national scratch plate onto the final, well played guys. Winter league has taken hold with the slightly changed format but still dragging in the numbers with some excellent scoring.

Congrats to Stuart Jennings and Adam Routh for their summer foursomes victory and I must personally congratulate Steve Maguire for giving me a sound beating in the Putter final today, third time unlucky for me!

On the social side the bingo was a sell out and many new faces that was very satisfying , the key to door continues with 3 more keys failing to open the door. We all looked forward to the cheese and wine night last Frida, also a sell out, thanks to John, Pauline, Val and Sandra for thier efforts with this event.

The end of season is just round the corner on the 22nd November and there are still seats available if you would like to treat your partner and have a great night out, there will be a silent auction on the night for some amazing items up for offer. Come and join the club celebrating all that was 2025.

As I write Jack Hawksby is preparing for another big week after qualifying for the final qualifying for the DP world tour , some amazing golf was played and we all wish him well at the end of the week.

Have a great November.
