As we move further into the winter period, I wanted to give you an update on the challenges we have faced so far and the progress the greens team has made despite extremely difficult weather conditions. November has already become our 5th wettest month since we began keeping records in 2011, with 188mm of rainfall. Combined with prolonged hard frosts, this has left ground conditions exceptionally soft, unstable, and often unsafe, additionally the hard frosts has brought significant ice coverage, As a result, we have had to enforce multiple course closures to protect both members and the long-term health of the courses from excessive damage from winter golf traffic when the ground conditions are not playable.
Despite these setbacks, the greens staff have continued to push forward with our winter program. A newsletter has been email out of the work that has been completed so far along with a copy of the full winter programe.
Best Regards
