Marshall’s Birdie Blitz Signals a Player in Full Flow

Andrew Marshall produced a spectacular second round at the Legends Tour event in Mauritius, firing eight birdies and just three bogeys to surge up the leaderboard into eighth place. His round began in sensational fashion with four straight birdies, setting the tone for a day of aggressive, confident golf.

To put that into perspective, Andrew made birdies on more than a third of the holes he played—yet still finds himself only eighth. It underlines just how fiercely competitive this field is, but it also highlights how exceptionally well he is playing. With that many birdies on the card, it’s clear he is hitting plenty of greens and converting chances, showing real quality with the putter as well.

Andrew summed it up perfectly himself:

> “I’m playing lovely and striking the ball well.”

As his former coach, it gives me enormous pride to see him performing like this after so many years. Since his victory in Italy, there has been a clear shift in his mindset. Many players can compete at a high level, but it’s only when you win and lift a trophy that you truly believe you belong there. That belief changes everything—your confidence, your decision-making, your ability to stay calm when it matters most.

Having watched Andrew walk the fairways for so long, I read his body language instinctively. Even when nerves appear, I now see a player who can handle pressure, not one who is overwhelmed by it. That’s a huge difference—and a crucial one at this level.

Do I believe he will win again? Yes, absolutely. With his current form and growing confidence, I firmly believe this could be the platform for an outstanding 2026 season.

Let’s hope he continued that momentum today. I am incredibly proud of him—and the club should be proud of him too.
